Herb-infused olive oils & vinegars; herbal jellies; fresh & dried herbs; herb & plant seedlings; herbal soaps, salves, & lip balms|
Pickle Creek Herbal is a family herb farm & business run by Tim & Jocelyn Engman in Brighton, Iowa. We produce the best possible herbal products by taking the process from seed to store. We do everything by hand—-planting, growing, harvesting, & drying our herbs. Then we use our herbs to create infused olive oils, vinegars, jellies, teas, soaps, salves, & lip balms with family recipes that we refined over the years. We also sell an array of herb seedlings in the spring and summer and fresh herbs when in season. We have been growning organic herbs since 2006 and have been gaining local recognition for our hardy herb seedlings, flavorful herbs, and amazing oils & vinegars. Over the past 5 years that we've been attending the Des Moines Farmers' Market, we have gained many loyal repeat customers. We’ve been told many times that our infused olive oils are better than anything you can buy at Williams Sonoma (or similar stores), and that they are easy to cook with and go great on everything. Some of our more zealous customers tell us that they wouldn’t know how to survive if they ever ran out of our products!

Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
Our farm is certified organic, and we are former chemists and are very conscious of our soil chemistry. We work to create the ideal growing environment for our plants. Life starts with the soil!
Taste is not a commodity! Our mission is to remind people how good food can taste when it is grown in well-loved and well-tended ground. We are the fourth generation to be working the soil on our little 80-acre farm and feel priviledged and proud to be members of that group known as "the small family farm."
Highlights this Month
Currently we have our infused oils & vinegars, soaps, & lip balms in stock. Salves & herbal jellies will be available soon. We will have herb seedlings (as well as tomato and pepper seedlings) available beginning May 1st.
