Specialty Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, French Filet Beans, Carrots, and Winter Squash|
We've had our farm for ten years. It is a few miles north of Maxwell, which is about 45 minutes NE of Des Moines. It includes about 20 acres of cropland, most of it seeded down to forages. We also put in about 100 chestnut trees last year. This year we are growing specialty potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, french filet beans, several varieties of winter squash, and watermelon (which is our 9 year old son's project).

Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
We have been chemical free in our growing practices. We don't use any herbicides to control weeds or insecticides to control insects, but this year we applied a small amount of 10-10-10 garden fertilizer prior to planting because our phosphorus and potassium levels were getting low.
Looking forward to the 2012 season!
