The varieties we choose to plant are very important and are chosen for flavor first. We have relied on our customers as well as our own taste buds to let us know what varieties are the best. We love to try new vegetables. Over the years we have tried peanuts, artichokes, cotton, okra, tomatillos, salsify,etc. Some of these have become our favorites but most just novelties.We have a lot of experience canning and preserving foods so we offer certain items like pickling cucumbers and beets in larger quantities. Some of the more common crops we grow include green beans, strawberries, asparagus, spinach, green & colored peppers, arugula, various greens, onions, beets, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, kohlrabi, okra, winter squash, melons and more. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients N/A Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) We do not yet qualify for organically grown certification, however we strive to use as many organic methods as possible. Our fertilizer program includes the use of either Miracle Gro or a 10-10-10 fertilizer when the use of compost is insufficient. We also believe in protecting and improving our soil so that we can leave it to future generations in better condition than it is now. We do this by regularly adding organic matter to build the soil, sowing cover crops to reduce erosion and rotating crops. Additional Information Some of our vegetables are grown in a hoophouse allowing us to provide crops earlier and later into the season. Though not yet certified we have been growing all produce in our hoophouse using organic methods.
