Grains used to feed our worms are purchased in Iowa from Farmer's Cooperative in Indianola, Iowa. |
Describe your farming, processing and/or crafting practices. (if applicable) | Our Hybrid worms live in 3 and 1/2 gallon buckets and there are 250 to 300 worms per bucket. The worms are fed every two weeks. During the feeding process, the castings are removed. In keeping the worms in buckets, we know how much product we will have at any given time. Because of this, we can supply our worm castings year round and will always have product for our customers. Because the worms are an African Hybrid, they must be kept warm and our facility is kept at about 80 degrees during the winter months. The advantage to the African Hybrid is that they have been designed to produce a lot of castings. |
