Our cheese is made from the whole milk of our grass-fed cows. We purchase cheese cultures and enzymes for cheese production.
All the herbs added to our cheese curds are certified organic.
Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
Perennial grasslands are the basis of our farm. We rotate our cows to new grass twice a day for both good forage quality and healthy grass stands. In the winter they graze stockpiled forage when possible and are fed hay. We find that healthy cows start with a healthy cow diet and lifestyle. Occasionally they do get sick, and sometimes antibiotics are the best way to get them better quickly.
Our cheese is all handcrafted in our on-farm cheesery.
Our mission is to provide healthy, delicious cheese to Iowans, produced in a way that the land and community can appreciate.
