Plants in many shapes - many native species and houseplants About Us We are all about plants! Our primary focus is native plants (species that grew in Iowa historically) during the growing season. In the colder months we offer a few houseplants. We also do native landscape design, installation and management. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients N/A Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) We only sell happy plants! If you have problems or questions about your plant feel free to contact us. We always provide the Latin name of our plants so you can find accurate information about them on the internet. Additional Information Our motto: Native Plants, the Roots of Iowa! Our passion is promoting native landscapes in urban settings of all sizes. To accomplish this we provide native landscaping expertise, live plants, installation and maintenance labor, and enthusiasm. We strive to help public and private clients have successful, attractive native landscapes. We also try to avoid "landfill mindlessness" and so offer our native plants in returnable/reusable containers. If you return them to the co-op we'll reuse them, THANKS. Highlights this Month The only plants we sell during the winter are houseplants = it's a great time to "green-up" your home! We also have some knotted rope mats listed in the handcraft section. These are hand-tied and come in several sizes and knot designs. Some are dyed in natural dyes like walnut extract, tea and beet juice. For more info about any native plant you are considering we recommend our website or James Hilty's Illinois Wildflower page: http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/ Go Native! It's good for pollinators, the soil, the soul. |

This plant has it all - showy flowers and attractive foliage. It can get to 5ft tall, and slowly spreads by runners, so it needs a larger bed. And moist conditions - established plants can tolerate a little drought, but may not flower. For best results put it near water or consistently moist soil. Full sun is best too. Hey it's the Queen, it can be demanding and get away with it.
