I have been working with poultry since I was a child growing up on the farm. In the early 90's, our family decided to expand our flock and offer farm fresh eggs to a local grocery. We were later asked by a restaurant to supply them with the eggs that they serve and use in cooking. We are now expanding to offer farm fresh eggs to others in the area.

Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
Our hens are floor raised, which means that they are free to move around to get feed and water. They have nests which have wood shavings in them to reduce breakage and keep the eggs clean. We get our feed from a local feed mill which uses grains grown nearby and supplements to balance the ration for optimum production.
We constantly look for ways to make our operation more sustainable and reduce energy needs. We also want to see our food systems become more localized when possible to reduce transportation costs.
