We are a small 7 acre farm with 1 acre of heated greenhouses located between Nevada and Colo, Iowa on Lincoln Highway. The main focus is growing produce off-season in raised soil beds in heated greenhouses. We also grow fruits and vegetables outside on the remaining acres. WHAT WE GROW: We provides fresh, locally grown, high quality produce from heated greenhouses during off-season production times. For example - salad greens from Sept through May. Early tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, and cucumbers starting in April through August. Outside produce is grown during the normal growing season which includes rhubarb, berries, and vegetable crops. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients n/a Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) OUR GROWING PRACTICES: Most crops that are grown in the greenhouses do not require chemicals. If it becomes necessary to control an insect or disease problem, organically-certified biological chemicals are utilized first if possible following current Integrated Pest Management practices and following all the rules and regulations associated with their use. All greenhouse beds are filled with field soil. Compost and cover crops are used to increase fertility. Supplemental liquid fertilizer is used as necessary. All greenhouse crops are watered with drip irrigation to conserve water use. Most field crops also utilize drip irrigation as well and follow Integrated Pest Management practices.
