IFC Shopping Cart is Open – 997 Products Listed!

Lisa from Gardner’s Harvest writes: “I archived our pretzels (they will come back at some point) and added Hot Cross Buns, Irish Soda Bread, Irish Soda Bread with Raisins, and Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.” 

Yoke S Ranch has two products from their Corriente beef herd on sale right now: ground beef patties @ $5/lb and beef liver @ $2/lb.

Lee from The Berry Patch writes: “It looks like we’ll have a good selection of greens, lettuce, spinach, red and green kale, and radishes along with potted curled parsley and chives.”

Wildwood Farms is back (they sell every other cycle) with over 40 products. New are two soup mixes – Mushroom and Cheesy Potato (both great additions for that Easter meal).

Raccoon Forks Farm added six different styles and sizes of hand-painted barn quilt signs (for bring that country feeling to the city). They are in the Decorations subcategory under Non-Food Items.

Griffieon Family Farm added lamb shoulder steaks.

Zaza’s Pasta added wheat-free Amaretti cookies, Kale & Golden-Raisin Ravioli, Chocolate-Hazelnut Pizzelles, and Hazelnut-Orange Biscotti.

Twin Girls Gardens is back with their Blush Wine Jelly (a perfect compliment to any celebration) to add to seven other unique jam and jelly products.

Heart of Iowa Soapworks has a new, limited-edition product this cycle: Spring Flowers Shampoo bar (scented with Lily of the Valley, Jasmine and some herbal notes to round out the blend). 

Corazon Coffee Roasters added a new certified-organic coffee, Colombian Popayan (smooth and full bodied with a hint of chocolate).

Lee from The Berry Patch writes: “We will have lettuce, spinach, arugula, radishes, potted herbs and curled parsley, and apple wood this cycle. We may have some kales once we get closer to the end of the cycle.” 

Iowa Orchard added half and full peck bags of Fuji apples for this cycle.

Fieldstone Farms has added a new line of products to our listing: 6 varieties of natural lip balm (listed in the Skin and Lip Care subcategory).

Good Shepherd Grass Farms added T-bone steak and beef bacon this cycle.  Amber also notes: “we are currently out of beef sticks but hope to have some soon.”

LaVon from Griffieon Family Farm writes: “We finally have ground beef available in pounds and patties! We are also offering whole lamb and pigs for sale, and we have two quarters and one half of beef. We’ve cut the price 70 cents/lb on Smoked Cured Dried Beef (cold nights are great for a quick meal of chipped beef over toast. It’s also great in the dill pickle and cream cheese dip or spreading cream cheese on the dried beef and wrapping a dill pickle and slicing). We added a few cuts of lamb–arm chops, sirloin chops and lamb ribs–and Autumn replenished the soap and lotion shelf!  So don’t let the cold weather and furnace dry your skin.”

7 Pines Farm added 8 oz. jars of jalapeno jelly (great for a quick snack on cream cheese and crackers, and also tasty cooked with a pork loin.

The Homestead added live baby romaine lettuce mix in containers that are completely made of renewable bullrush fiber (completely compostable).

It’s time to start thinking gardening. SalAmander Farms wants to know what transplants you’d like. Sondra writes: “I’ll once again be offering a wide selection of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, okra and other vegetables, but my seed collection is much larger than my offerings on the IFC website.  If you’re a member of Seed Savers Exchange (if you’re not, you should be) you can see nearly everything I have available (over 120 varieties) in their online yearbook listing (http://www.seedsavers.org/). If you have something you specifically want, contact me at macsond@dwx.com as soon as possible to give me a heads up so I’ll be sure to have plenty on hand.”

Audubon County Family farms is listing whole and half hogs for sale (product #3576). The hogs are born and raised on the Madsen Stock Farm (Vic and Cindy Madsen) following Niman Ranch protocols. They are from older genetics known for their good eating quality. They are raised on straw or cornstalk bedding without antibiotics or animal by-products.

Gardner’s Harvest wants you to know that this is the last cycle she offer her soft pretzels for a while (the are a lot of work). Make sure you put in an order for these tasty treats (which can be frozen if you want to stock up).

Windy Knoll Lambs has two lamb chop products on sale, plus and they have a Curry-Spiced Lemon Marinated Lamb Chop recipe on their producer page (lamb chop recipe).

Wildwood Farms is back this cycle with her amazing array of mixes, granola bars, and roasted nuts. Lorna has two new mixes – Lemon Raspberry Pancake Mix and Banana Walnut Pancake Mix – and she also added two types of Bavarian pretzels. Feed your family good food. They’ll love you for it.

Julie with Zaza’s Pasta wants to let you know about some new products she listed: Wasabi-Soy Fettuccine;Garlic-Sriracha Fettuccine;Asiago & Herb Focaccia;Sun-dried Tomato & Fresh Mozzarella Ravioli; and Spinach-Walnut Pesto Sauce.

Holdeman ABF Poultry is continuing their sale on bone-in split capon breasts and capon party wings, which can be used in Matt’s chicken enchilada soup recipe.

Wedel Grazing Acres added beef sticks from their antibiotic and hormone free herd.

Griffieon Family Farm has their smoked cured dried beef on special for $7 per lb (great for those dill pickle, sour cream wraps and dip, but also good as chipped beef over toast on a cold day). They are also offering you an opportunity to Go Whole Hog!  They have a whole pig for sale (product #3591) that includes all the cuts; chops, steaks, roasts, ribs, bacon, cured ham, ham slices, American and Italian sausage, and ground pork. You even have the option of asking for some fat if you want to render lard.

Timber Ridge Cattle Company has relisted their products and added a new one: peppered beef jerky.

7 Pines Farms added two new dip mixes (Creamy Spinach and Sundried Tomato Basil) to go along with their other dip mixes, salsas, sweet jalapenos, and granola products.

Holdeman ABF Poultry has a sale on bone-in split capon breasts ($2.75 per lb) and capon party wings ($2.25 per lb).

Valley View Poultry added a new product: boneless skinless smoked turkey breast (smoked with hickory and cured with brown sugar and salt; perfect for slicing for sandwich meat).

Wedel Grazing Acres added beef rump roasts and Novae Vita added t-bone steaks.

Pure Native added grain-free biscotti and grain-free chocolate chip cookies.

Hedgeapple Fiber Studio added a nice selection of woven wool products – blanket, triangle shawl, hat/booties/mittens for a 3-6th month old, and four different scarfs.

Zaza’s Pasta (from North Liberty) is a new IFC producer that uses local and organic ingredients when possible (their ravioli in particular features either vegetables or cheeses from local farms and creameries). They’ve started by listing a bread product (Panettone, which is an Italian Christmas Bread), an olive oil product, three pasta sauces, and 15 different kinds of pastas. 

Windy Knoll Lambs (from near Riceville) also recently joined the IFC. They are starting out by listing ground lamb, leg of lamb, lamb chops, and lamb shoulder roast.

Reichert’s Dairy Air (from near Knoxville) is a seasonal goat dairy, meaning they “dry up” their moma goats for the winter. So, they won’t have any of their cheeses for sale until next April (but Frisian Farms is still selling their Gouda’s, so us cheese lovers still have an option).

Corazon Coffee Roasters (from West Des Moines) added four new single-origin coffees (great stocking stuffers!) – Costa Rican, Mexican, Peruvian and an additional Guatemalan coffee. They can also custom grind orders. Just let them know in “Notes to producer” section of your cart, plus the level of grind (fine, medium, coarse, espresso, french press).

Wildwood Farms (from Wellsburg) is back this cycle with their full line of products, plus two new trail mixes (Nuts & Berries and Salty & Sweet).

7 Pines Farms (from near Maxwell) added two new bread mixes (Beer Bread and Herb Beer Bread) and three new dip mixes (Toasted Bacon Onion, Bacon Horseradish, and Veggie) to go along with their salsas, sweet jalapenos, granola, and chicken products.

Chris’ Custom Bakery (from Ankeny) updated her frosted sugar cookies to feature holiday themes: Xmas (candy cane, tree, star, bell, holly), Santa (GingerBoy, poinsettia, candy wrapper, ornament, light bulb, Santa), Winter (mitten, snowflake, snowman, snowball, tree), and Sports (football, helmet, jersey, basketball, team pennant).

Two Rivers Soap Company (from West Des Moines) added two new soaps: Rosemary Mint and Beach House (both with Shea butter).

Lee from The Berry Patch (from near Nevada) writes “We have lettuce, swiss chard, spinach, red and white kale, plus fresh-cut sweet basil along with potted herbs (sweet basil, chives, curled parsley and plain parsley). We also have mixed bags of potatoes and apple wood for smoking.”

Griffieon Family Farm (from near Ankeny) added whole grass-fed lambs (for those of you looking to stock your freezer for the winter months).

Maxwell Farms (from near State Center) is a new IFC producer offering three varieties of chemical-free potatoes – Red Norland, Purple Majesty, and French Fingerling.    

Two Rivers Soap Company (from West Des Moines) is also a new IFC producer offering ten soap products, two of which are limited edition holiday soaps (great for stocking stuffers).

Grandma’s Soap (from Madrid) has returned this cycle. Check out their new scents and gift options this holiday season with prices starting at just $3.00.

Krieger Greenhouses (from Jefferson) added swiss chard, kale, and baby spinach greens, and Lee from The Berry Patch (from near Nevada) writes “I have updated what we will have to sell. Lettuce, arugula, spinach, red kale, green kale, potted herbs sweet basil, chives, plain and curled parsley, and mixed bags of potatoes.”

Iowa Orchard (from Urbandale) was granted a variance to list apples from an orchard they lease near LaCrosse, WI. The variance is valid until next year’s apple crop is ready, and they are offering two sizes of five different kinds of apples (Cortland, Golden Delicious, Haralson, Honeycrisp, Jonathan).

Alison of Daily Bread Bakery (from Algona) writes: “We’ve added our artisan Holiday bread for this cycle. We grind the grain just before mixing, and then add dried cranberries and walnuts, so it’s great for this season.”

Shanen with Ebersole Cattle Company (from near Kellerton) writes “We added lots of beef inventory & plenty of our Suet Lolli Pops to treat the birds in this cold weather.”

Wedel Grazing Acres (from near Riceville) added hams and bacon from their Berkshire herd to their inventory of pork products, and  Griffieon Family Farm (from near Ankeny) added whole grass-fed lambs (for those of you looking to stock your freezer for the winter months).

Pure Native (from Des Moines) added grain-free cinnamon raisin bread and grain-free fig & rosemary crackers.

Lisa with Gardner’s Harvest (from Des Moines) writes: “I’ve added Decorated Sugar Cookies and Gingerbread Men.” She also has her fresh-baked gingerbread house kits listed.

Scott from Hedgeapple Farm (from near Earlham) writes: “We’re back in business with our lamb products, including ground lamb, lamb chops, breakfast sausage, stew meat, and leg of lamb.”

Fieldstone Farms (from near Clemons) added a unique product: natural fire starters (listed under household supplies). It’s a pine cone imbedded in beeswax that’s easy to use in your fireplace to start that cozy holiday blaze.

Ryan from Wild Rose Pastures (from near Pella) writes: “I have a new product – pre-cooked smoked whole chicken. All you have to do is heat and serve.”

Fieldstone Farms (from near Clemons) is a new IFC producer-owner that’s listed various sizes of honey, comb honey, bee pollen (for sprinkling on toast or English muffins, or for stirring into yogurts of cold cereals), honey straws (cut off one end to dispense, great as a snack or in hot tea), and candles. Welcome aboard! 

LaVentosa Ranch (from near Clemons) returned with pork, goat, beef, chicken and duck products, plus a limited number of heritage turkeys. Carrie notes: “I may be able to add more turkeys but will not know until Wednesday. I will update our availability as soon as I can.”

The Berry Patch (from Nevada) wrote: “We have fresh arugula, spinach, lettuce, swiss chard, potted herbs (sweet basil, chives, plain and curled parsley), mixed potatoes and acorn squash.”

Rosebud Botanicals (from near Afton) wrote: “I am so glad to list again after a few months of not being able to make deliveries. We’ve added two new products: Mineral Foundation (in Ivory, Light Beige or Medium Beige skin tones) and Organic Lotion Making Kit.”

Ebersole Cattle Company (from near Kellerton) added Jalepeno & Cheddar Beef Sticks (“Don’t worry, they aren’t too spicy. Add cheese from Reicherts or Frisian Farms for a great cheese plate for game day.”) Their tallow products are back (“If you enjoy watching birds, hang our grassfed Suet Cakes to a tree outside your window”). They also have Pot Pies FOR Chickens (“these will keep your chickens laying during the cold.”)

The Threshing Floor (from near Dallas Center) added dinner rolls in two sizes made from fresh ground organic wheat flour from IFC member Early Morning Harvest.

Pure Native (from Des Moines) added grain-free biscuits (the perfect partner for breakfast, lunch or dinner).

Wildwood Farms (from Hubbard) added two cocoa mixes (chocolate and spiced). Lorna also lowered the price on her frozen lasagna, and she added two gift baskets: 1) a Soup and Bread Gift Box and 2) a Holiday Gift Basket (includes two pancake mixes, Lemon Poppy Seed and Pumpkin Bread and Muffin mixes, Spiced Cocoa and Chocolate Cocoa mixes, and 4 energy bars). These gift products will be shipped directly to you (or the lucky person getting the gift) just in time for Christmas.

Gardner’s Harvest (from Des Moines) added fresh-baked gingerbread house kits in two sizes. What fun you and your kids will have building these edible treats!

Glenwood Century Farm (from near Albion) is back with squirrel corn and acorn squash.

Holdeman ABF Poultry (from near Riceville) is again offering pre-orders on five capon products for the Dec. 20th delivery so they’ll be sure to have enough in stock.

Wild Rose Pastures (from near Pella) added stewing hens (these will work well in a crock pot, brazed, or boiled for chicken noodle soup).

Also, there’s a glitch in the software. Members who’ve placed orders can’t see their shopping cart when they click the “view my cart” link. This means that while you can view your invoice to see what you’ve ordered, you can’t modify your orders without being able to view your cart. We know what happened to cause this problem, and we are working to get it fixed.

Krieger Greenhouses is back after being gone since this past spring. They’ve got fresh beet bunches, baby carrot bunches, two kinds of winter squash, and a wide range of herb products (fresh savory, oregano, parsley, sage, rosemary, basil, chives and cilantro, plus four types of “herb gardens”, which are live herbs in 4″ pots perfect for in your kitchen window). 

Timber Ridge Cattle Company (from near Osceola) is back as well with their flax-fed beef sticks and flax-fed summer sausages.

Foxhollow Farm (from near Elkhart) and Valley View Poultry (from near Bloomfield) are offering pre-orders this cycle for Thanksgiving turkeys. You might want to take advantage of this opportunity because the extreme heat this past summer caused problems for many of our turkey producers.

Holdeman ABF Poultry (from near Riceville) is also offering pre-orders on five capon products for the Dec. 20th delivery in order to be sure they have enough of each in stock. Also, Matt Holdeman advises that their capons make a great turkey substitute for holiday meals.

Pure Native (from Des Moines) added grain-free sugarsnap cookies and Gardner’s Harvest (from Des Moines) added pumpkin walnut bread.

From Julie at 7 Pines Farm (from near Maxwell): We have added the following new products: certified organic cherry belle radishes (a favorite for salads or relish trays), homemade maple walnut granola, and two types of dipping mix (garlic butter and Sicilian).

From Mary at Cory Family Farm (from near Elkhart): We are now offering products from “this season’s” beef. We also have available for the first time all-grass fed & finished lamb. For this cycle we would like folks who place an order to designate in the comment section if they would like the 100% grass lamb.

From Becca at Crooked Gap Farm (from near Knoxville): We are taking this cycle off because we are out of meat.  We hope to be back next cycle!

From Lori at Iowa Orchard (from Urbandale): Apple cider is now available (although we have had to increase prices this season due to the limited amounts of apples because of that April freeze). We have six flavors to choose from in pint, half gallon, and gallon sizes.

Huber Family Farm (from near Maxwell) added a new variety of sweet potato – O’Henry (white-skinned with a smooth cream-colored flesh that tastes of nuts and honey).

Raccoon Forks Farm (from near Redfield) added canning tomatoes (half bushel boxes) at $15 each.

Angel’s Acres (from near Lacona) added free-range pullet eggs at $1.50/dozen.
